Stephen Sillett is the co-executive director of ADCID (Aiding Dramatic Change in Development). He has worked with developing communities around the world using a methodology he calls "Socio Drama Topgraphy". From dealing with violence and trauma to supporting communities devastated by AIDS, you'll discover how his drama-inspired methods are creating new behaviours... and new hope.
1 A document detailing an image theatre workshop we ran in South Africa. The process is Image of Transition, and we explored the theme of Disclosure of HIV status. The document include details of the activities, including the introduction of Mood Drawings and also the use Video to unpack meaning happening during the activity.
2 Webinar Recording: Deepening Engagement: Finding the Power to Empower
This webinar discussed community engagement techniques that use drama and art to help community members express their identity, feelings and aspirations, and make meaningful connections with others. These workshops can be adapted for specific populations and are often helpful to people with language barriers. Utilizing art and drama releases participants’ creative energies and creates deeply empowering experiences for participants. The results of these workshops may also provide insights that can help shape service planning and development.
