Week One: Voices from the Field (September 10 - 16)

Learn from and with some of the world’s foremost practitioners in storytelling and storywork. With our Foundations offering, you will learn why telling a good story makes a difference and why storytelling is still the most powerful way to reach others. In the Story at Work circle you’ll gain new insights into the art of using story in the workplace for leadership, vision, direction, and success. With The Many Faces of Story you will learn how to capture, work with, and share stories.

Week One Live Event

What Does it Take to be an Everyday Story Activist?

With Christina Baldwin + Mary Alice Arthur  / Hosted by David Hutchens & Amy Lenzo

Join us for a highly participatory, cutting-edge story conversation on Saturday September 15. We all know that something needs to change. Maybe that's in your own personal story.  Maybe there's a community issue, or maybe you want to aim even bigger. What is a Story Activist and what are the everyday acts that can start to make change?

Christina and Mary Alice  talk about the little -- and not so little -- things that make a big difference.  The inner -- and outer -- orientations and paradigm shifts the help you take back the power of your story. During this live event you'll have the opportunity engage with the questions on your heart and mind, then break into a small group with colleagues from around the world to take your conversation deeper. 

This is where we build our community and our conversation in real time.

Week Two: On-the-Edge Practice (September 17 - 23)

This week you will learn from a group of practitioners taking story into a variety of realms. You’ll discover how story can support and enhance Diversity and break barriers. You will learn innovative practices for using Story at Work that help push the edges of the envelope. And you will take a deep look into the Inner Work of Story, hearing about how story shapes us from the inside out.

Week Two Live Event

Navigating the Big Stories of Our Times

Our second Live Event takes place on Saturday September 22. We'll be taking a look at what it takes to cultivate and hold on to your resilience in the face of change, how to manage the boundaries of your core story and much more. 

Our speakers will talk from their own experience of taking on big narratives -- Patrick on climate change, Mike on AIDS and Madelyn as a specialist on resilience. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and be in conversations with colleagues from around the world. This is where we deepen community field and practice story sharing.

This is where we build our community and our conversation in real time.

Week Three: Story the Future (September 24 - 30)

One way to change the future is to change the story. In Changing the Story, you will learn from a global circle of inspiring guests who are actively working to shift the story in the places they live and work. You will explore another round of insights for Story at Work, this time through the lens of Story Activism and some fascinating insights into how you can story the future. And we’ll take a look at the bigger picture of how story is shaping our future and the critical time in between old and new stories from our speakers around Storying the Future.

Week Three Live Event

What's the Future Story of Story?

With Bayo Akomolafe + others / Hosted by Mary Alice Arthur & Amy Lenzo

Our final Live Event takes place on Saturday September 29 and this time we delve deeply into how to story the future. It's time challenge how we see the present, to question the edges and what we say matters in order to tell a new story about life. Drew Dellinger is a poet, an activist and someone engaged in curating a planetary movement. Chené Swart stands on the foundation of narrative therapy to support and challenge us to re-author our future and our world. Bayo Akomolafe, originally from Western Nigeria and now resident in India.  He is a deep thinker, edge dancer, lyric writer, proud parent and passionate engager in life. We offer a conversation that is both fierce and tender, challenging and hopeful, inviting us to walk up to the edge and tell a story about what we see.
